Ilana, born in Mexico City, started playing tennis at the age of 7 and after her 2 year Army service played professional Tennis for 6 years in the late 80's. Ilana Israel's Women's National Champion 5 years and represented Israel in the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games and in "Federation Cup" for many years. After reaching a career high of 148 in the World rankings, she decided at 26 years of age it was time to become a serious person, hang her rackets and went to study Literature and Journalism. As a quiet and shy person, Ilana decided that writing was probably her thing. She worked 7 years as a sports correspondent in "Haaret'z" Newspaper and today she coaches' tennis privately (mainly students, kids, housewives and anybody who can afford it and also stand the Israeli heat) and is a freelance sports Journalist that writes and commentates Tennis and Olympic Sports. Ilana likes to spend her free time as far as possible from the Sun, tennis courts and tennis balls, and as much as she can in Movie Theater's, Spinning lessons her family and friends.
